RESUMPTION OF NORMAL OPERATIONS IN ISSUANCE OF PASSPORTS

The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs the general public that normal operations in the issuance of passports have resumed and shall serve the public as follows;

1. Clearance of backlog caused due to low stock has immediately commenced and will be cleared within the next two (2) weeks.

2. The public is further informed that a record/list of printed passports that are ready for delivery to the bona-fide applicants is available on our websites at www.mia.go.ug and www.immigration.go.ug In case you already collected your passport and your name still appears on the list, please ignore.

3. For those submitting passport applications during this time as we manage the backlog, we would like to inform you that our turnaround time will be slightly affected during the next two (2) weeks as it will take us ten (10) working days to process your passports for Normal Applications while Express Applications will take two (2) working days after which operations will normalize.

4. Proven Emergency passport applications will continue to be given the urgent attention they deserve.

5. The Ministry of Internal Affairs thanks the general public for the patience exhibited during the period of low stocks and apologizes for the inconveniences caused; and would like re-assure you of our commitment to continuous improvement in service delivery.
